The Hochalm – a house with historyThe Untersberg mountain is with his 1.900 metres nearly the local mountain of Salzburg . The Untersberg cable car drives onto it’s top. After the edification of the cable car, a mountain restaurant was absent. So in the years of 1961 to 1962, Baron Fritz Mayer-Melnhof erected the mountain restaurant Hochalm on the summit of the Untersberg mountain. The dedication of the Hochalm took place on the 28 of Mai in 1962 by Erzabt of St. Peter. Many famous people, conspicuous by sports, culture and politics, have visited the Hochalm on the Untersberg mountain. King Olaf of Norway and his spouse, the Austrian federal president and many more. |
